Is your wardrobe full of clothes, yet you still feel like you have nothing to wear? An overcrowded or disorganised wardrobe can make getting dressed feel stressful and leave you wasting time searching for the clothes you actually enjoy wearing.

In this Top Tips video, I share some of my favourite practical ways to declutter and organise your wardrobe so it’s easier to use, easier to maintain and works for your everyday life.

Start by replacing bulky hangers with slimline hangers where possible. They take up less space and can instantly make your wardrobe feel more organised.

Next, arrange your clothes in a way that makes sense to you. I recommend organising shorter items, such as tops and T-shirts, through to longer pieces, such as trousers and dresses. Your wardrobe doesn’t need to be perfectly colour-coded for social media. The most important thing is creating a system that makes it easy to find and put away your clothes.

To prevent your wardrobe becoming overcrowded again, try the one in, one out rule. Whenever you buy something new, choose one item to remove. Be realistic about the clothes you keep. If something doesn’t fit you now, is no longer in good condition or doesn’t make you feel great when you wear it, consider whether it still deserves valuable space in your wardrobe.

Finally, try the reverse hanger trick. After wearing an item, return it to your wardrobe with the hanger facing the opposite direction. Over time, you’ll clearly see which clothes you regularly wear and which have remained untouched. This can make future decluttering decisions much easier.

A well-organised wardrobe isn’t about having fewer clothes for the sake of it or creating a picture-perfect space. It’s about keeping clothes you enjoy wearing and creating a practical system that makes getting dressed simpler.
